The season

Wilsonville won its first seven games of 2015, scoring at least 45 points in each, starting with a 54-21 win at Mountain View. The only regular-season loss was a 40-37 shootout at Liberty on Oct. 23, and Liberty went on to win the Northwest Oregon Conference title. The Wildcats finished 7-1 in league and 8-1 overall.

Seeded ninth, Wilsonville played every playoff game on the road. The Wildcats won 49-14 at Hermiston, then got revenge on top-seeded Liberty with a 24-21 quarterfinal win. Quarterback Connor Neville was hurt in that game, and senior Tom Gomez came off the bench and threw a 74-yard touchdown pass on his first play for the go-ahead score. It was Wilsonville's first semifinal since 2006.

The semifinal against No. 5 Ashland at Grants Pass High School was the Wildcats' fifth straight road game. Wilsonville recovered an onside kick and led 14-0, but Ashland recorded eight sacks, forced five turnovers and won 63-35. Neville had passed for 2,703 yards and 35 touchdowns in nine games before the semifinal and was the NWOC's co-Offensive Player of the Year.
